Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Ombudsperson under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA for engagement in various districts of Jammu and Kashmir Division, UT of J&K.

Total No. of Posts: 13
Districts: Doda, Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Udhampur, Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Samba, Ganderbal, and Srinagar.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Domicile: Candidate must be a domicile of UT of J&K. Retired government servants must have held a post not below the rank of Additional Secretary or equivalent.
  2. Experience: Minimum 10 years in Public Administration, Law, Academics, Social Work, or Management.
  1. Mandatory Qualification: Experience of working with people or community organisations.
  2. Disqualification: Members of recognized political parties or banned organizations are ineligible.
  3. Physical Requirement: Must be physically fit for field tours and inter-district travel.
  4. Preference: Residents of the same or neighbouring district will be preferred.
  5. Vacancy Handling: In case of vacancy (due to resignation, death, etc.), next person on the approved panel will be appointed.
  6. Selection Process: No written exam. Selection based on interview and internal marking by the UT Selection Committee. The panel will be published on the department’s official website.
  7. Tenure: Two years, extendable twice by one year each based on performance or until age 68, whichever is earlier. No reappointment.

Remuneration:

  • ₹2250 per sitting
  • Maximum ₹45,000 per month

Removal Clause:

  • Ombudsperson may be removed for unsatisfactory performance based on recommendation by the UT Selection Committee.
