Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority Announces Recruitment for Support Staff Posts (2025)
The Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority (J&K LSA) has issued Advertisement Notice No. 02 of 2025, dated 23rd April 2025, inviting applications from eligible domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The recruitment is for contractual engagement of Support Staff in the Legal Aid Defence Counsel (LADC) offices established across various districts in J&K.
Details of Posts and Honorarium
The engagement will be purely contractual for an initial period of one year, extendable by another year based on performance and availability of funds. The posts are distributed district-wise into Class A, Class B, and Class C:

Class A (Srinagar):
- Office Assistant: 03 posts (Rs. 21,500/month)
- Receptionist-cum-DEO: 01 post (Rs. 19,000/month)
- Office Peon: 03 posts (Rs. 11,000/month)

Class B (Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur):
- Office Assistant: 03 posts per district (Rs. 17,500/month)
- Receptionist-cum-DEO: 01 post per district (Rs. 17,000/month)
- Office Peon: 03 posts per district (Rs. 11,000/month)

Class C (Other Districts including Shopian, Anantnag, Baramulla, etc.):
- Office Assistant: 03 posts per district (Rs. 13,750/month)
- Receptionist-cum-DEO: 01 post per district (Rs. 13,500/month)
- Office Peon: 03 posts per district (Rs. 11,000/month)
Important Dates
- Commencement of Application Submission: 24th April 2025
- Last Date of Application Submission: 5th May 2025 (up to 4:00 PM)
Eligibility Criteria
- Office Assistant/Clerk: Graduation with good typing speed, computer proficiency, file management skills, and ability to prepare case files and take dictation.
- Receptionist-cum-Data Entry Operator: Graduation with excellent communication skills, data entry proficiency, telecommunication skills, and good typing ability.
- Office Peon (MTS/Attendant): Minimum 10th pass, with experience in general MTS tasks.
Age Limit: Candidates must not exceed 40 years of age as of the publication date.
Application Fee
- Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) via Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority, payable at Srinagar/Jammu.
Terms and Conditions
- Engagement is purely on a contractual basis.
- No claims for regular government employment will be entertained.
- Engagement can be terminated at any point for unsatisfactory performance.
- Candidates are treated on a retainership basis, not as salaried employees.
How to Apply
Candidates must submit their application forms along with a demand draft, self-attested copies of educational and experience certificates, and proof of age to the respective offices of the Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority at Srinagar, Janipur (Jammu), or the concerned District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs).
No other mode of submission will be accepted.
