The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2025, dated 22nd July 2025, inviting online applications for 61 UT Cadre posts in the Home Department of Jammu & Kashmir. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website

As per Annexure-A, the total number of posts advertised is 61, distributed across different categories and departments as follows:
- Assistant Scientific Officer (Chemistry & Toxicology) – J&K Forensic Science Laboratory – Level-6E (₹35900–113500) – 2 posts
- Assistant Scientific Officer (Crime Scene) – J&K Forensic Science Laboratory – Level-6E (₹35900–113500) – 23 posts
- Assistant Superintendent Jail – J&K Prisons Department – Level-6C (₹35700–113100) – 3 posts
- Computer Assistant – J&K Prisons Department – Level-4 (₹25500–81100) – 1 post
- Laboratory Attendant – J&K Forensic Science Laboratory – SL-2 (₹19900–63200) – 32 posts

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025)
- Open Merit (OM): 40 years (Not born before 01.01.1985 and not after 01.01.2007)
- Reserved Categories (SC/ST/RBA/ALC-IB/OBC/EWS): 43 years
- Physically Challenged Persons: 42 years
- Government Service/Contractual Employment: 40 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 48 years
Educational Qualifications
- Assistant Scientific Officer (Chemistry & Toxicology / Crime Scene): Master’s Degree in Chemistry / Forensic Science / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Zoology / Botany / Environmental Science / Physics / Mathematics / Social Work / Psychology from a recognized university.
- Assistant Superintendent Jail: Graduate from a recognized university with minimum physical standards as per rules.
- Computer Assistant: Graduate with Diploma in Computer Applications / IT / Software Engineering.
- Laboratory Attendant: 10+2 with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) from recognized Board of School Education.
Selection Process
- Posts of Assistant Scientific Officer (Chemistry & Toxicology), Assistant Scientific Officer (Crime Scene), and Assistant Superintendent Jail have been exempted from Written Test/Interview as per government orders.
- For other posts, selection will be based on written/OMR examination only.

- Applicants should ensure they meet all eligibility criteria regarding age, qualification, and domicile before applying.
- Candidates must produce original documents during document verification.
